Alexandria Family Podiatry specializes in the treatment of toenail fungus. If you've tried unsuccessfully to tackle your stubborn, unsightly fungal toenails with topical creams and ointments or with oral medications, consider laser treatment. Our office was one of the earlier podiatry practices in the Washington, DC area to offer laser treatment for fungal nails. We've performed over 1,000 laser treatments on our patients who have been diagnosed with onychomycosis, or toenail fungus.
With our vast experience and advanced laser technology, the doctors at Alexandria Family Podiatry have the expertise to help you improve the appearance of your damaged nail. Here are some successful results from our laser treatment:
FOX LASER for Toenail Fungus
This patient's left foot had several infected toenails. Notice the big toe on the "before" photo. It is yellow, thickened, and brittle.
After several treatments, the "after" photo shows the big toe with new, healthier nail growth, which is more natural and clear in color.
The appearance of the third nail in the "after" photo shows a fuller, grown-out nail without any chipping or crumbling.
This patient was committed to battling his long-time struggle with toenail fungus. Dr. Lee and our laser technician followed an aggressive year-long treatment plan using the laser. The results speak for themselves. The toenails started out crumbly, thickened, and yellow--particularly the big toe. After laser treament, his toenails show greater clarity, luster, and healthier growth.
What your podiatrists in Sterling and Alexandria want you to know about orthotics
If you have a difficult time walking because your feet hurt, you’ve probably tried over-the-counter pain relievers and other methods to get relief. No matter what you’ve tried, nothing seems to relieve the achy, tired feeling in your feet. It’s time to try something new, custom-made orthotics! Your doctors at Alexandria Family Podiatry in Sterling and Alexandria, VA can make your feet feel young again.
We use computer-aided technology including precise measurements, impressions and casting to provide you with a custom orthotic that will fit you perfectly, unlike simple, store-bought foot inserts.
Your Sterling and Alexandria podiatrists offer a full range of custom-made orthotics to bring you the relief and pain-free movement you need. Consider:
- Soft orthotics--which absorb shock, help with balance and take pressure off of your feet; they are the perfect choice for arthritic or deformed feet, and people with diabetic foot conditions. Soft orthotics are made from soft, cushioned materials and protect the entire sole of your foot.
- Semi-rigid orthotics--which help with balance, and are a great choice for walking and playing sports; they can also be used to treat flatfoot in children. Semi-rigid orthotics are constructed of both cushioned and rigid materials.
- Rigid orthotics--to limit the motion of foot joints and provide relief for strained tendons, and muscle aches and pains in your legs, thighs, and lower back; these orthotics are constructed of hard plastic and are worn for walking or additional support when you are wearing dress shoes. We will make a precise cast of your foot from which they can then make a mold of your foot. Your custom-made orthotic is created from this mold.
You don’t need to suffer from foot pain. You deserve to get out there and enjoy your life, and custom orthotics can help. Don’t wait when it comes to your feet, especially when help is just a phone call away. Call your podiatrists at Alexandria Family Podiatry with two offices in Sterling and Alexandria, VA.
